They are well versed in metal fabrication. They bring the whole shabang to the table. However, they can take a very long time to produce a product which is not good when doing business. If they can't deliver on time, we can't deliver on time. While they offer a wide range of services they were just not for us.
Strengths: laser cutting, electropolishing, stents
Needs to improve: cost
norman noble is a capable and experienced metal fabrication vendor. i have evaluated them as a potential stent manufacturer a couple years ago. they offer the full gamut of services from laser cutting to electropolishing. the ultimate reason why we did not proceed with them is the long lead times. it was difficult to evaluate their product when it can take up to 12 weeks to receive parts. ultimately, we had to make a decision and there just wasn’t enough experience with their parts to commit to them.
Strengths: stent manufacturing, laser cutting, electropolishing, nitinol processing
Needs to improve: costly, long lead times

If you're looking for very standard, familiar products, (stents, springs, paper clips) these guys might be able to do it, but if you present them with anything outside of the lines, expect a "can't do" attitude. Even relatively easy operations advertised on their home page ended up problematic. Also, they didn't take the time to read the RFQ thoroughly and consequently had poor initial understanding of the request.
Strengths: They exist.
Needs to improve: See "general experience"
Their level of expertise in this field was far superior to other we tried. They met all our requirements and the quality of the parts was very high. Their turn around time was very adequate given the complexity of our requirements.
Strengths: We tried several companies to source a micro machined part for our project and it was this company that was far superior to the others. Their customer service is excellent and their expertise in the field is outstanding.
Needs to improve: we did not run into any real weaknesses during our project. They were very helpful along the way.
Have requested quotes for various nitinol laser cutting projects and have never placed an order with them, they were way more expensive than any of the other competitive bids.
Strengths: Good customer service. Good laser cutting expertise.
Needs to improve: Very expensive.

Norman Noble has done our electropolishing for stent based products. They have done good work but can be late on deliveries (sometimes weeks late). They do have competitive pricing and are very collaborative. Pricing is decent. Whenever deliveries are late, they have upgraded the shipping to overnight shipping at their cost.
Strengths: Electropolishing, laser cutting, stent work
Needs to improve: long lead-times

We tried them out to machine some small NiTi parts. They did a good job but they are not cheap. Use them if money is less important than time.
Strengths: Small parts machining. Good sales staff.
