Best Buy

My experience with them has been satisfactory. Whether I walk in there with something I already know that I want, or something I need help with I tend to find their staff more courteous and knowledgeable than my average store experience. Sometimes it's still nice to put your hand on a product before you buy it, and that's something you'll never get online.

Strengths: Best Buy has done great in recent years to not only cater to the casual shopper but the enthusiast as well. It's a hard market to compete in now that amazon, newegg, tigerdirect, and rakuten are so much more convenient. That being said they are doing more things to compete such as price matching, and as mentioned, they have high end electronics and even housewares, so it's a good place to demo items if you have the time.

Needs to improve: Prices are often higher. They will only match amazon if the item is sold by Amazon. the last time i tried to price match on something sold by another vendor and fulfilled by Amazon they would not honor. And even with price matching, its attractive, but again time is everything these days and going through that takes time. Had a brief experience with the Geek Squad. Their prices are ridiculous.

My BestBuy experience has always been fairly positive. They are very happy to assist you and recommend anything you are looking for. If there was an issue, we are always directed to a friendly customer service agent.

Strengths: Best Buy has an wide array of products. They range from computers, to TV's, appliances, etc. We purchase emergency items such as cables, phones, and tablets if we are in a bind. BestBuy continues to deliver excellent customer service to every end user. They greet you with a smile and seem very knowledgeable about any product you are looking at.

Needs to improve: With the internet right there at your fingertips, BestBuy's prices and product selection isn't as great as the internet. It seems that people who go to BestBuy need something real quick and they can't wait to have it shipped from an internet store.

I purchased a tuner and asked the sales guy for advice. He basically read me what was on the sign. I felt like he made up answers when I asked him detailed and more involved questions. However, he saved the rating I give them by asking a Geek Squad guy to come over and help me.

Strengths: Very well organized stores.
Decent selection.
One of the few brick and mortar electronics stores where you can get good product "feel".
Decent prices.
Generally good sales.
Generally trustworthy employees and products (brands).
Lots of locations.

Needs to improve: More expensive then, say, Amazon or other internet stores. Hit or miss on sales people knowledge.

I go Best Buy for my electronic needs for my back up files at work. They have lots of different kinds you need from office works & personal. I bought this external hard drives its easy to install and transfer my files.Staff are friendly to help you and give you every details of products when you have questions. Quality are great and one of the best I like are they promo sales

Service is always good and so is knowledge by employees. Customer service desk at times can be time consuming especially for just a quick trade on an item.

Strengths: The customer service at Best Buy is great because you can always find someone knowledgeable in the products you're looking for. The price is also very good for most promotional items

Needs to improve: The only problem I can see while shopping at Best Buy is certain pushy salesmen that are looking for a quick commission.

Best Buy does price match the competition. and has adequate service with easy to navigate storefronts.

Strengths: Easy to find locations with a large amount of components and computer/office supplies and very convenient open hours to grab and go in a pinch.

Needs to improve: Prices are oftentimes the same or higher than the competition, and many of the staff are not as technically knowledgeable as they could be

Best Buy is my go to for petty cash purchases of things like flash drives or hard drives that are needed very quickly. The customer service is hit and miss there depending on who you get, but the prices are good and they carry decent gear. Good resource to have locally.

We purchased all the office equipment in Best Buy. We first search and look for a product online then look for it personally. The price can match all the other stores.. The employees are all dependable and has an initiative to explain the uses of their products.

Strengths: Their products and Customer Service is great. They have everything an offices needed.

Before Amazon was a big deal, we would always purchase Computers, Printers, or anything related from Best Buy. However Since Amazon has come around, we only go to Best Buy to look physically at computers. They still have everything you need, but online is easier.

Best Buy was extremely helpful in managing my need to shred confidential documents at the end of our school year. Their prices were reasonable and I would use them again and again for this particular service.

I purchased 3x flat screen televisions from Best Buy for my old employer and they were able to find the brand I needed and price match. They had very knowledgeable staff and great customer service

Strengths: All brand name electronics available. They have a wide variety of Televisions. Great competitive prices.

Needs to improve: Maybe more locations.

Best buy is our go to for anything entertainment purposes. The ability to see different models displayed is priceless. Staff is friendly and generally pretty knowledgable. I love their generic brands because the prices are usually lower.

Strengths: Having educated staff, multiple options for every component imaginable.

Needs to improve: Prices can be high

I really like Best Buy when I need something right away or would like to see it in person. There prices are not as good as online stores.

Strengths: Local, speed, returns, geek squad/helpful staff, see products in action (like tvs, computers, etc)

When we first opened our first location, we went to Best buy to outfit the store with all our necessary computing needs. The staff there was very knowledgeable and helped us create a good, solid infrastructure

We purchased a digital camcorder and used it to shoot videos for our presentation. Great selection to choose from.

Strengths: Wide selection of electronics particularly digital camcorders

Needs to improve: pricing is not as competitive as fry's electronics
